emily takes a lot of pictures and she posts a lot of pictures. i click on them all the time.
all that clicking... after a while you want to respond, maybe? so i made a piece - i took out all the mammals, and the words, and stretched out what was left, and played with the colors. she had a big party and i brought my machine and my projector and showed that on her blinds, about six months' worth of her images (over 700) - changed, combined, usually recognizable, jumping around every second through time and space. after that was set up, i shot some mini video clips of her and her brother and a few other miscellaneous people setting up the party - and her dog. those clips, also jumping around through time and space, were run through a separate machine and a separate video projector, shown over the layers of her photos already being shown. so there was emily, moving around, and her dog, and her brother, right back in bhutan and the west village and her apartment and the restaurants and hiking trails and other places she is constantly showing us, jumping around through space and time, no clicking, automatic, different every time you look.
